After a week of busy work at McLean's Packhouse,I am finally getting the hang of the job here.The apple season has just started and already we were drown by apples everyday at work.It is so incredibly busy at work that when we thought we were busy enough,the next day just get busier.Fruit explosion is becoming so common now that I can be dead calm when I am having one of it now...unlike the panicky me when I first encounter fruit explosion.

Fruit explosion (noun.) is a term that describe the situation when shit-loads of apples are coming out from the conveyor belt like tsunami.Most often or not the grader and packer will not have enough time to do their job properly and thus leading to flooding of apples to the floor;especially when the grader and packer is the same person.

I got myself some bruises and aching limps from stacking job,another downside of working in a packhouse.Stacking job is very hard because the stacker need to stack carton boxes loaded with apples that weight at about 22-freaking-kilograms each,and stack it to 8 layer high.Yes,that is 22kg carton x 5 = one layer,and I have to stack it to 8 layers high!Imagine doing it non-stop for a day and what it would do to your arms at the end of the day!

The angmoh stacker there can just stack the 8th layer of carton boxes with just one arm,kinda like superman,really!After some tips from them,I am now able to stack the 8th layer with my bare hands without using the ladder;honestly I was quite amazed with myself when I did that the first time,I felt like I was a superman too!Hahahaa.After a week at doing that I realized that my upper arms are getting stronger now,maybe by the time my job is finish here i'll get some big muscle!Ngeheheeee.

Luckily the supervisor is considerate enough to have made all the guys to take turns doing stacking job,so it wasn't really so bad.I will go back and forth of being a grader,packer and stacker everyday and so my job wouldn't really get too boring and tiring.Plus I get to learn something new everyday at different position,which was quite good.

One week down,about 3 more months to go on this job.Hopefully everything will goes well with my job and visa extension,and I'll be back in KL in July!Ahh,I just can't wait to be home again!
